Gibson & BMI Celebrate Women in Music
and Raise Funds for Komen Foundation
during Breast Cancer Awareness Month
(Austin, TX) -- Gibson Entertainment Relations and BMI
will host a networking party to celebrate woman in all
areas of the music biz -- from artists to managers to
techies -- that will include attendees painting donated
unfinished Gibson guitars with pink paint and glitter
for auction to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation.
The networking party for women starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday,
October 18, at the Gibson Entertainment Showroom in Penn
Field, 3601 S. Congress Ave., #G400, in Austin.
Presented by Gibson Musical Instruments, BMI and
McGuckin Entertainment PR, the event is part of
"Cocktails & Conversations," an invitation-only,
limited-attendance monthly networking and professional
development series. Its purpose is to spotlight
different musical genres and groups in the music
industry in Austin with special events and release
parties.
In
addition to helping raise money for breast cancer
research (October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month),
networking and having fun, attendees will be treated to
live music and take part in swag giveaways.
The
Gibson guitars decorated at the October 18 party will be
auctioned in conjunction with November's Race for the
Cure, the annual run organized by the Komen Foundation.
