TRENT SUMMAR & THE NEW ROW MOB
& TWO TONS OF STEEL
PLAY DALLAS’ GRANADA THEATER

AUSTIN, Texas — Palo Duro Records label-mates Trent Summar and Two Tons of Steel — each supporting a new record or single release — play the famous Granada Theater in Dallas to help bring in 2007 with musical fireworks.

The big show starts at 8 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at The Granada Theater, 3524 Greenville Ave. in Dallas. Tickets are $10 general admission and $15 reserved; information: 214.824.9933.

Songwriter, recording artist and rowdy alt-country rocker Trent Summar and his band, The New Row Mob — touring behind the release of his second album, HORSESHOES & HAND GRENADES (Palo Duro Records, October 10), which has soared to #3 on the national R&R/Americana chart — headline at 10 p.m.

Country-billy combo Two Tons of Steel — supporting “Your Kiss,” the second single from its CD-plus-DVD TWO TON TUESDAY LIVE! FROM GRUENE HALL (Palo Duro Records, June 2006) — opens at 8 p.m.

HORSESHOES & HAND GRENADES, just named one of the 11 best country albums of 2006 by The (Nashville) Tennessean, as well as the set list played by Summar and his loud, tight band, is packed with clever, down-home farm rock gems like “Really Never Loved Her Anyway,” an honest look at heartbreak; “Guys Like Me”; and the darkish, witty title track that plays off the old phrase that close counts only in horseshoes and hand grenades.

The Tennessean said of Summar: “… Onstage, he’s a frenetic terror. On this album, he’s the embodiment of everything that all those chin-out, tough-guy country young-uns on CMT would try to become if they borrowed a clue from Hank Jr. or any of the other real dudes. ” Members of The New Row Mob put the match to the songwriter’s dynamite showmanship and add their own musical talent.

Two Tons of Steel, whose release tour for the award-winning CD-DVD brought it back to Austin for the holidays, is marking the radio release of the stimulating “Your Kiss,” written by Monte Warden and Tony Raimey, which drew praise from Robert K. Oermann in his Music Row column: “I’m sure you won’t be surprised to learn that this neo-rockabilly outing has twangin’ guitar, a zippy rhythm track, a cool-hillbilly vocal and a totally catchy melody.”

Interview times are available for both Trent Summar and Two Tons of Steel as well as press kits and review CDs. To listen to MP3s and to download hi-res images, album art and more,
