FOR TOUR DATES
BEHIND LATEST ALBUM, OUTERSPACE

(Austin, Texas) -- Susan Gibson, the Texas songstress who penned the Dixie Chicks hit ãWide Open Spaces,ä has returned to her home state for a handful of tour dates that start in Terlingua and end in Comfort, with stops in Waxahachie and at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas.

Gibson, whoâs been touring the Northwest doing solo gigs opening for South Austin Jug Band, brings her band, Moving Parts, to Houston for a 9:30 p.m. show at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar on Friday, October 21. Tickets are $10. Information: 713.862.8707.

Sheâs been touring the country for OUTERSPACE, a collection of 13 roots-rock tunes that includes "Happiest When I'm Moving" (co-written with Jim Lauderdale), a song that reflects the songwriter's upbeat traveling spirit, and her live version of ãWide Open Spaces,ä which earned CMA Single of the Year honors and Country Songwriter of the Year by American Songwriter.

OUTERSPACE ö co-produced with Jack Saunders, recorded at Houston's White Cat Studio and featuring some of Texas' finest musical artists ö also includes "Cactus," "Together Strong" and "Company Man," other unforgettable melodies in Gibsonâs style of personal, soul-searching songs that speak to audience members and often poke fun at herself.
