BUZZ CASON AT WORK ON ‘HATS OFF TO HANK’
FOR PALO DURO RECORDS

Music Industry Giant Has Signed with Label

AUSTIN, Texas — Music industry visionary Buzz Cason continues work on a new studio recording, HATS OFF TO HANK, that will be his first release for Palo Duro Records scheduled for this fall.

Cason — a true American music singer, songwriter, producer and publisher — has worked and performed alongside some of the finest musicians ever to grace Nashville and shared a studio with the likes of Elvis, Roy Orbison, Kenny Rogers and Jimmy Buffett. His talent and experience reflect a strong musical tradition he brings to every project he touches.

Cason started Nashville’s first rock ’n’ roll band in 1957, The Casuals. He reached the Billboard Top 20 in 1960 with “Look for a Star,” performing under the pseudonym Garry Miles. In 1970, he contributed to American music as founder of Creative Workshop, a state-of-the-art recording studio used by such Nashville elite as Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris and Olivia Newton-John.

He is a gifted songwriter credited with cuts that span generations and genres. A sampling of the artists that have cut songs written by Cason include The Beatles, Pearl Jam, U2, Jan & Dean, The Derailers, Gloria Estefan and Placido Domingo.

Cason, who signed with Palo Duro Records in May, is no stranger to the label. He produced The Derailers’ SOLDIERS OF LOVE, a 2006 record that features his song “Soldier of Love” and is currently working with the band on a summer 2008 release.
