Vincent Robert, Producer
Born in
Montreal, Vincent Robert is a citizen of both Canada and the
United States. He has worked extensively in each country as
well as in Europe, in both English and French.
In addition
to producing “Halfway
Decent,”
he was the producer of “Scrambled,”
a feature-length art-house comedy scheduled to premiere
later this year at Laemmle’s Music Hall Theater in Beverly
Hills.
Robert also
produced Alan Berger’s cable feature “A
Walk in the Park,” a romantic comedy starring
Rachel Hunter and Joe Viterelli of “Analyze This.” It was
acquired by
Showtime for presentation as a “Showtime
Premiere” on all the Showtime Network channels, where
it has been aired more than 400 times. “Park”
was critically acclaimed when it premiered at the 2000
Arizona Film Festival.
As a
screenwriter, Robert recently completed the comedy “The
Home Front” for producers Lucas Foster (“Mr. &
Mrs. Smith”) and Eilhys England. He wrote the thriller “The
Deadly Mile” for Nu Image and “MorphMan”
for the Sci-Fi Channel. Robert also scripted the thriller “Distress”
for producer Lowell Blank (“Holes”), and other credits
include “Bones,”
an Ivan Reitman
production for
Universal Studios, and
“Red Surf,”
starring George Clooney, Dedee Pfeiffer and Doug Savant. “Bon
Voyage,” which Robert scripted for
South Park
Productions, won the prestigious
Telly Award.
He also works as a script doctor and consultant.
Robert
directed “ˇBuen
Viaje!,” a feature-length project shot in
Argentina and helmed the feature film "The
Fear,” which became the #1 best-selling title in
the history of distributor
A-Pix Entertainment.
Robert also directed “The
Celebration,” winner of the
Gold Medal at
the New York
International Film Festival and has done second unit
directing for studio films such as Universal’s
“Kindergarten Cop,”
Warner Bros.’ “Space
Jam”
and Disney’s “Six
Days, Seven Nights.”
Daily Variety
said: “Robert clearly has solid movie-making skills.” Among
Robert’s other directing credits are commercials for
companies such as investment giant
Charles Schwab.
Robert holds
a M.F.A. in Film Production from the
University of
Southern California's famed School of
Cinema-Television, where he also teaches screenwriting and
directing. Former students include many established writers,
directors and producers.
