HEALTH ALLIANCE FOR AUSTIN MUSICIANS
RECEIVES PROCEEDS CHECK
FROM PRESENTING SPONSOR WHOLE FOODS MARKET
FROM HAAM BENEFIT DAY
Proceeds to be Collected Through November 1
and Giving Continues During
Waterloo Ice House’s Month-Long 30th Anniversary Celebration
AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market (Sixth & Lamar and Gateway Shopping Center locations) today presented Health Alliance for Austin Musicians a giant check for $14,133 from the first HAAM Benefit Day on October 3, when businesses across Austin donated 5% or more of the day’s proceeds to the Health Alliance, which provides healthcare services for Austin’s working musicians.
HAAM Board of Directors members Robin Shivers of The Shivers Group and president of RRS Management and John T. Kunz, president of Waterloo Records & Video, were on hand at the Sixth & Lamar Whole Foods Market location to receive the check from John Marsh, store team leader, and Laura Zappi, marketing team leader.
Other proceeds from 105 participating businesses will be coming in to Health Alliance for Austin Musicians through the November 1 donations deadline, and the giving continues at Austin’s Waterloo Ice House Restaurant Group, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in October with “30 Bands in 30 Days” benefiting HAAM.
All HAAM Benefit Day proceeds will increase program capacity to benefit the 590 member-musicians and future members of Health Alliance for Austin Musicians with primary medical care through Seton Family of Hospitals, basic dental care through St. David’s Community Health Foundation and mental health services through the SIMS Foundation.
At Waterloo Ice House, entertainers including Wade Bowen, Toni Price, Moonlight Towers, Eric Tessmer, Carolyn Wonderland and Asylum Street Spankers will be playing shows as part of the month-long “30 Bands in 30 Days” celebration. Twenty percent of sales during each one of the 30 shows will be donated to HAAM along with a percentage of door proceeds.
Waterloo Ice House will also donate $5 from each sale during October from its HAAM Burger Celebrity menu featuring burgers named after Cory Morrow, Ray Benson, Susan Gibson, Ray Wylie Hubbard, John Dee Graham and Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis.
See www.waterlooicehouse.com for the menu, entertainers and performance times.
