About the Health Alliance:

Seton Family of Hospitals and St. David’s Community Health Foundation Leadership are the leading providers of healthcare services in Central Texas. Both networks are actively involved in reaching out to meet the healthcare needs of the uninsured in Central Texas and collaborating to strengthen the safety net for healthcare. Seton is a member of Ascension Health, the largest not-for-profit health network in the United States. St. David’s is a partner in St. David’s HealthCare. St. David’s is a not-for-profit community asset belonging to all of the citizens of Central Texas, whose Dental Program removes barriers to oral health care by taking free care directly to those who are in need. For more information, visit: www.seton.net and www.sdchf.org/dental.htm.

The SIMS Foundation was founded in 1995 to provide low-cost counseling and other mental health services tailored specifically to the needs of musicians and their families. Today SIMS continues to support the local music community by providing information and referral services; individual, family and couples counseling; limited psychiatric services; therapy for children and adolescents; and addiction-recovery services. SIMS welcomes musicians from all musical genres, races and ethnicities who meet the eligibility requirements. Even those who don’t meet the requirements can find support through SIMS via information on other beneficial community resources such as financial, medical and housing. For more information, visit www.simsfoundation.org.

The work of the Health Alliance is ongoing. To continue to serve the healthcare needs of low-income, uninsured working musicians, community donations are essential. Donations can be made at www.MyHaam.org or by check to The Austin Community Foundation/Health Alliance for Austin Musicians Fund and mailed to Health Alliance for Austin Musicians P.O. Box 301496 Austin, TX 78703.
