AUSTIN, Texas — Latin American fusion duo Joel Guzman and Sarah Fox, who are touring behind their 2007 release, play Austin’s best-known world-music venue in August, after a trip to perform in Romania and Italy.

The duo — evocative and eloquent vocalist Fox and genius-level accordionist and keyboard player Guzman, each award-winning, together unstoppable — specialize in a delicious bilingual fusion of salsa-flavored R&B, rumba, cumbia and rock: quite a mouthful, but it goes down smooth and easy.
Before and after playing One World, Guzman & Fox (formerly known as Aztex) continue touring with canciones from the recording, as far away as Spain and France (several shows) and the Strade Blu Festival in Italy, where European fans (like their Austin and U.S. counterparts) can’t get enough. Television loves them, too; they’ve been on Conan O'Brien and David Letterman’s late-night shows.
All the songs on their album, LATINOLOGY (Guzman produced), were written by Fox — songs like “Got Love,” “A Place,” “Cumbia Mundial” and “Sangre Azteca” — that instantly transport audiences to a tropical beach party or, in some cases, a spiritual retreat.
From September through the end of the year, Guzman & Fox stick close to the Lone Star State, playing gigs in Austin (including at the Texas Book Festival), San Antonio, McAllen and Fort Worth.
