TO BE THROWN BY 93.7 KLBJ's 'DUDLEY & BOB SHOW'

Raucous Radio Show Kicks Off New Year

(Austin, Texas) -- 93.7 KLBJ's "Dudley & Bob Show," Austin's funniest, most popular and longest-standing morning drive-time radio show of record, is giving away tickets this week and next for a special party show to welcome new listeners.

Throwing triskaidekaphobia and caution to the wind, Dale Dudley, Bob Fonseca and sidekick Charlie Hodge (with producer Angela Davis) will host the "Bring a Virgin (Listener)" party during the 6-10 a.m. show on Friday, January 13, in the KLBJ Conference Studio for 125 lucky ticket winners.

To be featured during the party show is live music by local faves including Vallejo and The Weary Boys, appearances by team members from A&E Television's "Roller Girls" and by comedian John Evans, and more of the outrageous and raunchy humor the show and the show’s hosts are known for. Waterloo Ice House is providing the party food, Tito's Vodka the Bloody Marys.

The Austin Chronicle, in its Critics Pick 2004, called KLBJ's "Dudley & Bob Show" a "guilty pleasure" for such things as its nutty annual events like the Flashback Prom (in 2006, an Eighties-style "Hair Ball" with metal band Quiet Riot slated for May) and the Pregnant Bikini Contest (July).

The morning radio program has been rated Best Drive Time Show in The Chronicle's readers' poll for 11 of its 14 years and Best Radio Program for 10 years in a row by the Austin Music Awards and again in 2005.

In those years, "Dudley & Bob Show" has come to be known for its in-studio acoustic performances showcasing the best musicians in Austin, including Arc Angels, Reckless Kelly and Carolyn Wonderland. It’s also known for its daily topics that prompt call-ins and comments that range from the bizarre to the sublime and the disgusting to the delightful.
