TEXAS TWANGERS TWO TONS OF STEEL
PLAYS POOR DAVID'S PUB IN DALLAS
ON DECEMBER 3

(Austin, Texas) — Texas "countrybilly" combo Two Tons of Steel brings hits from VEGAS, which has been charting for the 20 weeks since its summer release, to shows through mid-January that are slated for Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Denton and Bryan-College Station.

Two Tons returns to Dallas on Saturday, December 3, for an 11 p.m. show at Poor Davids' Pub, 1313 S. Lamar St. $8 tickets are available at 214.565.1295 and www.frontgatetickets.com.

In the 20 weeks since the release of VEGAS on Palo Duro Records in July, its first single — and the album's title track — has been charting on the Americana Chart, climbing as high as #9. The tune also climbed to #4 on The Texas Music Chart.

"Two Tons of Steel is the archetypal Texas roadhouse band because [members] dish out a lusty mix of Western swing, honky-tonk and '50s rockabilly — in other words, every genre of music sanctioned by the state," writes Gilbert Garcia in San Antonio Current.

Two Tons frontman and lead singer Kevin Geil, Dennis Fallon (on electric guitar and harmonica), Ric Ramirez (on upright bass and sharing harmony vocal duties), Chris Dodds (drums, harmony vocals) and Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Famer Denny Mathis (also on the dobro) have created their own Texas music, one that combines traditional rockabilly and a heady rock 'n' roll beat for a new sound altogether.

Palo Duro Records' CD-DVD release in spring 2006, TWO TONS OF STEEL... LIVE AT GRUENE HALL, aims to honor fans of the 10-year-old summer ritual known as the "Two Ton Tuesday" music series at the oldest dance hall in Texas. The release will put fans in the front row for a show of old standards and original tunes by the band, and they'll get to see some of the best swing dancers in the world celebrating Two Tons music!
